Boston Celtics
Amin was busy in the off season adding some veteran big men to his roster in the form of Julius Randle, Client Capela and Nick Richards. Amin will be hoping that these moves will make the Nets the top team in New York this season! They are certain to be in the play-offs but how far will they go, 2nd round would be my prediction
Off Season Moves Grade: B – Like the additions and being able to move Simmons, however trading Jaylen Wells might come back to haunt the Celtics in future years.
25 Season Prediction – 4th in the East but a second round knock out.
Brooklyn Nets
Big welcome to the league for Jerry! Its always hard coming into the league and having to join the mini draft, which didn’t really contain many exciting youngsters, so it was a case of picking the best players available. It was also great to see, Jerry was involved in the first trade of the season and that he had the courage to trade a future hall of fame player – Damian Lillard.
Off Season Moves Grade – B – Liked the picks in the draft, McDaniels has the potential to be a great addition to the roster long term.
25 Season Prediction – Just miss out on a play off place
New York Knicks
The Knicks came into the offseason with big salary cap issues, which resulted in them trading away Quickley, Randle, Vooch and KAT. That’s quite a lot of talent to lose, the replacements (and a number of first round picks) whilst not as big names as the outgoing players are good additions and seems to give the Knicks abit more depth. Given the make up of the roster, could this be Giannis last chance of getting a ring in New York, with all those future firsts could they look to build around Ant Edwards in the future..
Off Season Moves Grade – C – Feel like they could have got abit more in return for some of those outgoing players and then trading for Ben Simmons………
25 Season Prediction – Eastern Conference Champions but defeat in the Finals
Philadelphia 76ers
Historically the 76ers have also been the team to beat in the East, however this year could be different. The roster seems to lack depth and with a number of injury prone players that could spell trouble for them (well compared to their usual high standards).
Off Season Moves – C – Felt more could have obtained more for Kawhi and that more could have been done to strengthen the guard positions.
25 Season Prediction – Can see them finishing around 5th in the Conference but ending up in the Conference Finals.
Toronto Raptors
The Commish has been building filling his roster with young talent since he joined the league, is it now time to go out and compete?? I still think they are a little short being able to consider themselves as a contender, I do see them making the playoffs though
Off Season Moves – C – I liked the moves to bring in Naz Reid and OG Anunoby but giving up a possible contender for Defensive player of the Year in Rudy Gobert might hurt them more than they think.
25 Season Prediction – Can see them being 6/7 in the East – likely first round exit
